Before you press play…
A note on the door, or a turned lock. Twenty minutes where no one needs you.
Phone off — not silent. Off.
Headphones if you have them. Earbuds if you don't.
Settle in — seated or lying down, wherever stillness is easiest.
An eye mask if one is nearby. The darkness helps.
If you have a pen and something to write on nearby, keep that within reach
That's all you need.
This takes about 20 minutes.
The first several are for your nervous system—not for you to do anything, just for your body to remember it's allowed to stop.
Somewhere in the middle, the recording goes quiet for a while. That silence is not empty. It is, in fact, the most important part.
What you find on the other side of it is worth the wait.
The work that happens in one hour is real.
The work that happens over time changes things.
If you want the latter — this is where it begins.
