Growing Out of… Growing Into…
This meditation takes you to the side of a mountain — not the summit, but a resting place partway up where the view has opened enough to see clearly in both directions. Behind you, what you've been growing out of, and ahead of you, what you're growing into. You are standing in the middle of the becoming which is exactly where you are.
The climb itself is part of the work. As you rise, notice what falls away: What has already loosened its hold, what you've already set down without fully recognizing it. The distance you've traveled is real, even when it doesn't feel that way from the ground.
From the ledge, two simple sentences are waiting for you. They won't ask you to analyze anything or arrive at a conclusion. They'll simply ask you to listen for what's already true.
Return to this recording at least three times before we meet again. Each listen may surface a different answer because you are not the same person on Tuesday that you were on Sunday, and the work knows that. After each listen, write for a few minutes. Note what came, without filtering it. The summit is still above you, the path still continuing, and that is not a problem. That is the truth of the work.
The noticing is the practice.
